Remove Dust with Frazzle Fan?
Anybody using a fan to remove backlog dust?
I currently accept a decent dust collector, but I know I notwithstanding have very fine grit in the shop. Can I remove some of that with an exhaust fan? I've seen it discussed here a flake. Doesn't seem there are fans specifically for dust removal. What about the paint room fans, are those the best for dust?
Some expensive ones here...

Jason,
Yous may want to identify your dust collector in a room or compartment outside of your work area. The DC volition do information technology'south job and pick up the smallest (harmful) particles, the trouble with having it located within is these smaller particles are exhausted right back into the room with you because the filters don't do a expert enough job of capturing them. Placing the unit outside also cuts down on noise, on the negative side in the wintertime yous are sucking rut out with the dust, but what is more important a higher heat bill or clogged lungs. Yous could spend hundreds/thousands on a heat substitution if you will exist running the DC all day every day, or just exhaust it to the outside and be washed with it. And yes, you could sit your DC unit close to a window and use a window fan to pull the minor stuff out. It'south not the fans, it's the filters that trap grit. I use vortex or cyclone type barrels at each tool location that catches the fries, so the fine particles wearied to a trap outside the shop. Check with local laws concerning exhausting grit into the air start.

I put in a Broan 507C thru the wall fan with a separate speed command. It has been cracking. I think I bought it on Amazon, it was a couple of years ago. I accept a quality dust drove arrangement, just my married woman's painting studio is beyond from my store. Dust getting out of the shop would not exist a good affair!
The small negative pressure the fan pulls keeps any grit from going out and at 250 cfm the store volition clear the piddling flake of dust that does go far the air adequately rapidly. I have the exhaust about 8 to x anxiety away from the big dust collector, so any leakage would stay in that corner, away from me and exist sucked out fairly speedily.
The speed control lets me plow the air volume and noise down to a minimum when information technology is non needed, but I withal want a niggling fresh air and oestrus pulled into the store.

You can make a dwelling house made air purifier by strapping a filter in front end of your fan and hang it above you table blowing up

fans
I accept an typical business firm attic fan higher up mine that moves a lot of air up and away. About $80 I call up.
Just a belt drive but I think direct drives are available.

virtually bag dc'southward do put dust back in the air. you really need a expert cyclone to get the airflow and to capture the finest grit. it's ameliorate to capture the dust then attempt to remove it out of the air.

If your climate allows of course the best option is to just frazzle your dust collector exterior. If yous don't have a cyclone you can congenital a chip box outside and pipe into it. Since your blowing the air exterior yous don't need filters.
Of form if you accept to rut or air condition your shop a cyclone with skillful filters is the style to go. Overhead air filters to take hold of whatever is left in the air are also important.
An exhaust fan would remove air from the edifice along with whatsoever is in information technology.
